As a unique commodity among home building materials, bathtubs present distinct product characteristics and industry challenges in their logistics and transportation. Based on material classification, bathtubs are primarily categorized into acrylic, cast iron, steel, and artificial stone. These materials vary significantly in weight, brittleness, and pressure resistance, directly impacting the design and implementation of logistics solutions.

First, the size and weight of a bathtub determine its high logistics costs. An average household bathtub typically ranges from 1.5 to 1.8 meters in length and weighs from 30 to 150 kilograms. Cast iron and artificial stone bathtubs, in particular, have high density, requiring extremely high load-bearing capacity from transport vehicles and specialized loading and unloading procedures. Second, bathtubs' fragility increases the risk of damage during transportation. Acrylic bathtubs are easily scratched, while cast iron bathtubs, while sturdy, have sharp corners. Improper securing can easily lead to damage from bumps and collisions. Therefore, logistics companies must utilize customized packaging, such as thickened foam and reinforced wooden frames, and strictly control the number of layers and securing methods during transportation.

Furthermore, the final delivery phase of bathtub logistics is particularly complex. Due to the limited space in most residential elevators, standard bathtubs often cannot fit directly into them. Professional handling teams are required to dismantle the elevators, hoist them, or manually transport them, further increasing logistics costs. Delivery to some remote areas or high-rise residential buildings is even more challenging, requiring logistics companies to plan routes and assess feasibility in advance.

Currently, the bathtub logistics industry is gradually evolving towards specialization and customization. By optimizing packaging design, improving the adaptability of transportation vehicles, and strengthening end-of-line service capabilities, they are meeting market demand for efficient and safe delivery. In the future, with the increasing popularity of smart homes and integrated bathroom solutions, standardization and intelligentization of bathtub logistics will become key areas for industry upgrades.
